Cetacean Lovers READ THIS

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 13, 2007, 6:48 AM
Captivity

1. I totally agree they shouldn't have been captured in the first place.

2. But I also agree we learned a lot about cetaceans and how to help them because of captivity.

3. Do not get me wrong, but Even the death of Cetaceans in captivity has a positive side, because we can do research on fresh bodies and learn how to help and cure stranded Cetaceans in the future

4. Boycotting Aquariums/Dolphinariums is not always a good option, Because at least 50% of the parks money is used to care for the animals

The money is used for the food, medication and transport fresh seawater to the tanks. So if the park hasn't enough money the animals will suffer for it

5. This means: When the park doesn't make enough money they will most likely sell some animals to another park, which causes a lot of stress for the animal and it won't be better off at all

6. I do not believe in just setting free all captive cetaceans, Because most of them will not survive this process.

7. I do believe that some cetaceans can be set free, but that really depends on their condition and time in captivity and how bad they are treated

So think again

Harbour Porpoise found in my neighbours Freezer

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 12, 2007, 4:49 AM
( a harbour porpoise is a cetacean, You can call it a 'little dolphin' )

I was reading the newspaper when
I read that some idiot found a harbour porpoise in his
net and took it home

When I realized it was my neighbour I was shocked.

Because he always was a animal obsessed freak
in the wrong way
Because I worked with harbour porpoises
And mainly because we live 100 km away from any sea.. o.o

He always did illegal things, catching aimals in the forest
and selling them,
keeping exotic endangered species etc.

So when he was on a trip he found the harbour porpoise
he tossed it in his car thinking someone would pay good money for it.

Luckily the police discovered it and now his shop is closed.

Article ( Dutch, but with good photo )
